As is true of most web-based platforms, Bid Rocket, LLC collects certain information when users or guests access our website. This information may include(s): (i) IP addresses, (ii) domain servers, (iii) types of hardware accessing the website, (iv) types of web browsers used to access the website, (v) referring and exit pages, (vi) data about usage patterns. Information of this type ("Touchpoint Data") is anonymous information that does not personally identify users or guests but is helpful for us to improve the business performance and user experience.
In order for users to make financial payments and donations through the Bid Rocket website, users must register by providing information that personally identifies those who access the site ("Personal Information"). Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, the following types of data: contact data such as name, address, email address, cell phone number, username and password; financial data such as bank account or credit card number; demographic data such as your zip code, date of birth, and gender; company data including business name, size, and business category; user activity data such as donation history, fundraising history, etc.
Users should be aware that Bid Rocket, LLC takes reasonable precautions to safeguard the personal information of users but that no amount of protection can guarantee its security.
Bid Rocket, LLC may utilize user information in a variety of ways including: to send receipts, to send updates about the website, to send updates about activity on the website, to send newsletters, to administer accounts, to respond to customer service inquiries, to send marketing materials, and to improve the website and marketing efforts.
Bid Rocket, LLC may send emails to users and others who interact with the website, such as emails about product releases or special events or promotions. Users that register on the Bid Rocket website may be automatically subscribed to receive marketing correspondence.
Bid Rocket, LLC may also allow users to send various transactional and outreach emails. Unless such emails are accepted as part of an ongoing commercial relationship, or otherwise, they will contain an unsubscribe link.
Bid Rocket, LLC may or may not process any underlying payments facilitated by the website. All payments are processed by our electronic transaction partner, Stripe Inc. https://stripe.com/us/privacy, a third-party credit card processing company. Stripe, Inc. is a Level 1 vendor with the highest, most secure level of PCI compliance.
Financial data used to complete a transaction is encrypted using SSL technology and sent to a payments partner. For recurring payments or donations user financial and personal data is stored by a payment partner in accordance with acceptable industry standards. Bid Rocket, LLC does not store or have access to a user's credit card number.
Bid Rocket, LLC at times may share your personal information with other business partners who assist us in performing core services related to the operation of the website. These core services may include, but are not limited to, technical assistance associated with a user's navigation of the Bid Rocket website.
Any organization and its volunteers/users accessing the Bid Rocket website to conduct their event, or make donations through the website, will have access to user information, except for credit card numbers. Please note that making a donation "anonymous" hides user donation from public activity feeds, not the underlying beneficiary.
If users create a user profile, then the user will be able to see the profile when they are logged in. The information in the user profile remains inaccessible to the public. In order to prevent unauthorized access to a user profile, users should not share login information with other people.
Pages created on the Bid Rocket website are indexed by search engines and accessible to the public. If users create an event or campaign on the Bid Rocket platform and select the "private" setting, the event or campaign link will not be displayed through the activity feeds on Bid Rocket, the event or campaign will not be available through the internal search function, and it will not be indexed by external search engines. However, others may be able to locate the user page via other means.
Information posted on event pages, campaign pages, personal fundraising pages, a charity profile, posts, or other public pages on the Bid Rocket website, can be accessed by other people. Users should exercise caution when deciding to share information on public pages. Bid Rocket, LLC cannot control who accesses shared information or how other parties will use that information.
Unless users donate anonymously, the name and the amount of user's donation may be publicly displayed through the Bid Rocket activity feed. If users become a supporter on the website, or fundraise for a nonprofit, the user name and picture may also be displayed. Please keep in mind that Bid Rocket, LLC cannot control where a given nonprofit will embed the widgets that post the names or donations of users.
Users may not want to provide Bid Rocket, LLC with personal information. Those users can still visit the website without providing personal information, but the users will be unable to take certain actions.
Users may also choose to make contributions anonymously. If users make an anonymous contribution, the user's name will not be displayed through the activity feeds and the user's personal information will not be given to (i) the individual fundraiser, or (ii) the team fundraising entity if the user donated through a group fundraising page or a personal page associated with a fundraising group.
If a user knows or suspects that their credit card information, user name, or password has been stolen, misplaced or used without the user's authorization, the user should contact Bid Rocket, LLC immediately. Upon notification, Bid Rocket, LLC will take reasonable steps to issue a new username and reset the user's password. Users are responsible for the safety and security of their username and password. Users should logout after each session and user should never share their login information.
Bid Rocket, LLC is for a general audience and is not targeted towards children. Children under 18 years of age are prohibited from using the Bid Rocket website per the Bid Rocket, LLC's Terms of Service. If a user's child has accessed the website and submitted personal information, please contact Bid Rocket, LLC and we will endeavor to remove that information from the website and our database.
